Ramsgate piers

I used to fish Ramsgate pier (the one on the left facing the sea)many years ago and was wondering if anyone still fishes there?
I have heard rumours that there have been big changes to the area - notably the construction of stone breakwaters in front of the piers, any info would be appreciated thanks

Re: Ramsgate piers

Cheers F/P,I remember Ramsgate pier as being a good venue for plaice as well as the odd decent sized Cod - but then I am talking about the early 70's!
Have you any idea what's being caught round the Kent coast at the moment as I'm thinking of fishing next weekend?

the early 70's,thats when i used to fish there,it was quite good then,we had some good catches,i never had cod though,i also fished on the corner down by nero's nightclub,do you remember that ?,

the kent coast is having good and bad days at the moment,i have heard of very poor fishing at deal and hythe, but dover, the addy and breakwater particularly are fishing quite well,
three of us fished dungie yesterday and had a very good day with the dabs, see the report,it might help.
if i hear any other reports during the week i will let you know

Re: Ramsgate piers

Welcome Creedy

Sounds like a good trip, what was the biggest bass you caught? Well done, and what baits were they caught on?
