Sandgate - Hythe

Hi everyone.... new to this forum stuff... nevertheless wanted to share todays catch.

what a day.... Sandgate produced continuoious strikes almost all day long... was there from tide up 12ish throught to 19:00. Southwesterly made it tricky to get any distance but hell that never mattered a bit. Landed over 30 whiting.... two dog fish, a nice bass... mostly under sized, other than two for the pot.... and a single strange gernard type fish. What a cool location.

I was trying to type a text between strikes.... thats how it was like... continuious! used black and yellow lug.... never caught a thing on squid heads or mackrel. was casting around 100m - 115max. Strong eastward current because of the south westerly.

Made one big mistake... forgot the suncream and am sitting here glowing ... totally toasted.

Good luck guys

Brit

Used to fish there years ago, mainly in the winter for cod on the night tides, but had some nice Bass in the summer but at night too.You can over cast the Bass in the summer at high water .Well done Brit good to here its still fishing ,better then some of the other southern beaches by the sound of things !!!.
