| Re: new to this forum Never fish folkstone these days as they charge for fishing from there now. The wall is open 24hrs, but fishing is only allowed from the outside wall, £4.50 a day from the local tackle shops and patrolled by a steward usually. Competition pegs (1 to 30) are obvious last time I was there, low numbers under 6 best at low tide (pollack, scad, bass and mullet alongside the wall) and the knuckle (peg 30) at high tide. Start of the pier is best for newbies. Produces a good mix of species: cod, codling, plaice, dabs, sole, dogfish, smoothhound, pollack, wrasse, conger, pout, mackerel etc (even some bass). During the winter cod, whiting and dabs are most common in winter (50ish yrds out). Tight lines! |
