Re: tips on digging lug!

The trick is to stick to one area of the beach once you start. I have watched diggers run round after spirals in the sand and get nothing . Be systematic dig a trench about 12ft long twice the depth of your fork then go back to the start and the next row is a piece of cake. Stand in the trench it prevents back ache. I find catching fish on bait you have dug yourself is very rewarding.
Good luck and tight lines.

I agree its easy and if your going to scope out a mark before fishing there is nothing better than local bait, after all thats what the fish are there for, so dig it yourself to kill a bit of time waiting for the tides.

saves money on gym fees.

totally agree...99% of my fish this year have been on rag lug or crabs that ive collected myself ..
The car is minging and there are muddy tubs all over the balcony but hey ho
I bought a crabbing/Sandeel tool from Tesco yesterday for a quid ( obviously not its intended use but its perfect ) so thats my next quarry !

Better let her hold the camera when making the film, but she will probably be laughing so hard at daddy digging that the video will be shaky
