flounder sandwich

club match last weekend that as usual i got over enthusiastic about but this time instead of going sure id catch something ,following my blank the weekend before, i decided not to get my hopes up there after any catch would be an amazing bonus, so of to grenalee boulders...it was soon finding out at the meeting point that due to a significant increase in club membership we were allowed to fish round as far as white mark , somewhere id never fished,with the possibilities of flatties,mutts, who knew whAT bait to use, hours went by lost rigs and wieghts....ahhhhhhhhh same old bloody bristol channel shite different day, then the wind whipped up thrashing my long beam around all over the place i couldnt tell a bite if i tried, (i really must get a stiffer rod) lucky for me my fishing mate carried a spare, 13ft greys? packed up the daiwa and got set up again, running low on bait i hooked up some twice frozen sandeel....sundenly oh my god rattle rattle rattle knock as i wound in my first ever flattie yes it was only a 10'' flounder but thats all it needed to be to be in size, and i didnt care that it only weighed 1/2 lb it was a fish wehay ....
with nothing more than a tiny silver eel caught on our part of the bay i felt i may of had a shot at the top spot, id seen tiny flounders win comps before up at weston,sadly got my hopes up to soon as i discovered that 3 of the club had banged into 4 smooth hounds, one weighing 10lb 1, ah well not disheartened as usual ,id made 7th place and let me tell you monday lunchtime saw the making of a sandwich the likes of which id never eaten....it was amazing....flounder sandwich ....lush.
off to putsborough in a few hours, my first outing with out my usual fishing partner, im ready i just hope that the fish are,hmmm i say ready , my next web site visit is to utube to hopefully get some idea about how to land a tope!well you never know

Nice one. Not sure about the flounder sandwich, but each to their own I guess! Well done on weighing in... I've forgotten what that feels like to be honest!
