Re: fresh lug

Graham , i dig some decent sized worms and normally fish them 3 or 4 on a 2/0 pennel and have had most of my fish this year on fresh out lug !

Quarter of a peeler on the bottom or a cube of bluey or mackerel will give a lovely scented bait that will take most species ..
Out of interest i plan to dig again Sunday so i plan fishing the above method and will let you know how the various cocktails perform..

i give my worms a wash in sea water to get rid of the extra crud and then store them on wet kitchen roll and they last for a good 3-4 days
Steve

No point gutting them unless you're gonna freeze them ( or wrapping in tens lol )
I will be interested if he is pumping 50 odd blacks ( and getting his address )

Yeah mate, i went from 3 inch worms to big chunky monkeys in a matter of weeks ! all by moving 50 yards to the side and like you say they are big and dark

The biggies or yellowtails might be worth trying in the freezer - i hate leaving worms that i've bust my ass collecting so normally the last cast has about 30 worms up the hooklength
