| Hello all, I am a new member and thought I might ask for a bit of help to see if anyonre has any ideas. I have been fishing in the UK for 4 years now and have a terrible record at catching fish. I always try a variety of baits, rigs and spots (all along the south coast - hampshire, dorset, cornwall, isle of whight) but to no avail. I reckon I probably catch 1 fish every 14 hours! Is it me or are the south british seas void of any fish life? I used to live in the middle east and they have commercial fishing there too but anglers could always be sure of many a catch. Any ideas anyone please? |

| Re: help welcome and wow you have covered some big area for little result as you say, could be all manner of reasons, wrong bait ,rigs for area targeting wrong fish etc, do you usually find out whats catching at places before you go etc, I found going to same spot over all tides, conditions and learnt 1 area now more willing to travel, the fish are there (i,ve only just started getiing it right(ish)) sorry if cant be specific but too many variables __________________ 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day , Game on www.exmouthsaa.co.uk I have the body of a God, Pity its Buddha :-0 |

| Hello mate welcome to the forum and the fishing world ! My advice would be to simply speak to the local tackle shop - they usually give great advice on baits, species and whether they are being caught on low or high water and whether night is better. Not really any expert myself but have always found most tackle shops friendly and useful. The other alternative is to say the specific area you are going to fish and no doubt someone on here will be in that area and be able to help !
