| Re: Equipment Advice for Complete Novice I am not a brilliant caster, my best fish have been caught less than 10 yards out, I kid you not. I know one caster who can cast over 200 yards sending his bait to the horizon to catch pin whiting and my mate, who was casting LESS than 50 yards and catchin flounder in excess of 2lb. I can tell many more stories of that type. I can also tell you stories of the big hitters outfishing us. As some recently said, learn the basics, have a smooth casting and distance will come in time. Distance is just one more string to the bow that should only be use when necessary and not just for showing off! Just try and think like the fish you are trying to catch, cast to where you THINK the fish are not to WHERE you would like the fish to be! __________________ Windows-User: Doesn't know why it doesn't work.
