newhaven last night

sorry to keep you waiting for the report,i got home at 3.45 am and still recovering,
after meeting up with john-boy at his house we travelled down to newhaven together and guided by robs spot on directions soon found the venue,
we all met up over a pint(lovely start to a meet) ,grasshopper, needle sharp, rob and his friend chris(soon to join the forum).

started fishing about 6.30 and all started getting small pouting and the occasional whiting,it was encouraging,as the tide was coming in it seemed for a while that it would get gradually better,
all of a sudden it more or less stopped and we caught virtually nothing over high water, bit of a let down really,
packed up at about 1 am,just a little damp,it rained for half the night.

a very good night all the same,i think it was a toss up between john and darren (needle sharp) for the most fish award,

the biggest fish pool wasn't won although i'm sure my whiting was bigger by at least a foot!,

the venue was excellent, the company was excellent,
the cod will have to wait until next time,

thank you lads for a very good night.thank you john for the lift

another meet up and coming on dover breakwater in january

Re: newhaven last night

Morning All,

Also, my apologies for delay in posting, but as Paul said, it was a bit of a late finish, and I didn't get a chance to log on yesterday!

I'd like to echo Paul's sentiments, really - great fun, a good bit of banter (would have been more if we weren't hiding in the arches from the rain most of the night) and enough fish to keep us busy - albeit that they were on the "micro" size - LOL.

Venue was excellent for a meet - just a shame it didn't harbour any larger fish, but you can't have everything.

Special apologies to Del (Grasshopper), who I managed to call "Phil" all night .. sorrry mate, I'm a bit mutton in my wooly hat!

Anyway - fewer pics than I would have liked, due to inclement weather, and fierce Whiting and Pouting action!!!

Here's a pic of the group, it's a bit dark, I'm afraid. (thank god for Del's motorbike headlights for backlight - it was mighty dark down there!) ...

I think the Whiting and the crab sums up the reason we were all so busy!

Look forward to the next one, chaps ...

Cheers,
JB.
