Re: Newbie

Hi jefftow, the weed is normally brought up by a storm or windy weather,
or it could just be a weedy place. i would use 2/0 hooks for mackel.

Im quite a neebie too so i cant advise on a rig, well maybe a pennel rig

Re: Newbie

Wind and shore fishing can compliment each other but can also be a hinderence, there is no hard and fast rule on the beach just when you feel uncomfortable. Take for example a force 6, in you face on the beach can be uncomfortable but if it is on yer back it will aid with casting. Hooks for mackerel just a simple 2/0. Rig does all depend on what you expect to catch from you locallity.
