Smile float rig setup

Hi chaps! I know this will sound stupid to 99% of you out there but i need it clarifiying once and for all, what is a simple set up for a float fishing rig off pier or harbour wall? i recently went with the kids to a harbour on holiday and set up a ledger rig so fish on bottom but was told only floating was allowed? (i think that was because of boats going in and out) when I set up a floating rig I got that many conflicting comments regarding my setup that I packed in and went home before i lost my rag and did something I shouldnt. cheers Andy

Re: float rig setup

simple set up here
a float set up

personally i put the wight on a small length of shockleader with swivel above and below

as casts many more times before weight cuts through line( if that makes sence)

Re: float rig setup

Hi, my grasp of a float rig is. the line running through the float beads either end of the float and the weight directly below the float, with a stopper.

have a look on the back of the package it sometimes shows you...
