slapton 12th december

afternoon fishing forum fisherman/women there was talk of a wee meet on slapton on the 12th dec ,just following up on this as there are a few of us from devon going and wondered if there was any one else from around the country intrested.we would be fishing shingle (not mud ) high tide is around 6pm so would be fishing from about 1pm - 9 pm mostly whiting and the odd codling but this beach is full of suprises also dabs and yes those doggies....if any one wants any info on baits ,tackle ,directions then see my P.A.KIWIMARTY who will be glad to assist, also paul lingham is good for a few tips and good advice.....see you on the beaches........enjoy ..kev

Bah Humbug!! Sounds to me that it's the best time to go fishing!!

Great tides and one of the best times to fish these beaches.

Simple clean ground fishing, suitable for all casting distances.

also ive just heard this beach produces dabs to 2lb ,can anyone confirm this !!!

count me in welly but your not lighing the fire this time and kiwi get your self a belt i think thats what scared the fish away last time a full moon

there was a 1lb 13oz dab caught off hallsands at the weekend by some lad at my work,i havent seen a picture or actually saw the fish (it was prob a plaice ) no honestly the lad dosent usually b.s me but you can sometimes get the odd dab to that size i think the shore record is about 2 1/2 lb and up to 1lb is the norm........

Hi peeps,

Just got back from slapton, town end.

Well if you want a catch report then all il say is whiting!

To give u an idea of the amount i had the doggies couldnt even get to the baits!!!
Also had a mackeral an a pout, mate also had a pollack.

Had some whiting on thme fish'n;strips also.

BTW 3 of them hit OVER 1lb!
Me mams got a load of fillets!
