Re: Ugly Stik

I got a ten foot white & blue rod made by ugly stik for the piers. It works well and got plenty of backbone, dont be tempted by the 12 foot version as in my opinion it is no good! It seems to flimsey and flops about in the wind!!

The ten ft version is also good for little ones to use on the beach as it is nice and light so it`s nice and managable for kids to use.

Hope this helps mate

Re: Ugly Stik

I have changed my mind where I'm concerned and decided to buy an Abu Garcia Suveran Pro Uptider rod, as they have great reviews, plus I have just bought a Abu Cardinal ALBI506i reel that I'm told is a good match.

I could still be interested in your Ugly Stik though, as I could use it as a second rod or maybe for my 12yr old son.

I have looked on the web to see pics of your rod but can't find any could you post one if not too much trouble or explain what kind it is similar to i.e boat, spin, carp etc?
What condition is it in?
What would be the postage?

Thanks for the offer much appreciated,

Wayne.

P.S. I am just new to the game, so would it be possible if I ask you from time to time about tackle used for different species when pier fishing?

Re: Ugly Stik

Hi mate

The rod is being stored in my old mans shed atm as it only gets used every once in a while ( when i got a youngster with me). I will try pop over there later today and get some pics, It is a white and blue rod that is 10ft long so is ideal for learning to cast or fishing on piers with confined space, I would say it is mainly a pier rod but it can be used of the beach as my mate used to use it and never had any issues. Only probs i can see with using it off the beach is if there is a lot of surf about you can`t get it up high on the rod rest to stop the breakers smashing down on the line.

I would say it would be ideal for your son to use until he/you think he is ready for a bigger one.

Please feel free to ask me any questions and i will try my best to answer them as best as i can and there are plenty of others on this site that will be able to as well. I see you live in north east so you got plenty of good marks to fish. Where exactly are you? My nan lives in Durham so i am occasionaly near you and would be interested in meeting up nxt time for a trip

Tight lines

Joe

P.s Send me your email in a PM and i will try and send them pics, once i know where you are i can let u know about postage if you still want the rod
