Cat amongst the pigeons? Hi ya all, I've just been reading an article on the net regarding the 'Off the ground' casting method, what is that all about? It looks flaming dangerous to me. What is the matter with the age old 'get it swinging and give it the welly' method? ![]()

Re: Cat amongst the pigeons? Never heard of it. I am a fan of get it swinging and maximum velocity on the swing before letting it go. __________________ Jason - Got the flavour for fishing back!

Re: Cat amongst the pigeons? Off the ground casting dont quote me on this but i think its when you raise the rod straight over head, keep moving it back til the weight is touching the ground, then with one swift flick over head off she goes, i used that method when beachcasting all the time and i get good distance, but im sure its a personal choice, what ever your happiest with.

Re: Cat amongst the pigeons? i use this method for big lales it gives better distance and providing no one is stupid enough to be standing behind you when you cast its perfectly safe

Re: Cat amongst the pigeons? i use this method for distance fishing 150 yds plus Normally keep the lead /hook link in a bucket before casting not on the floor
