help/advice needed

How do, looking for advice.......done a little beach/rock fishing when younger, about 30 year ago, looking to start beach fishing again, so much gear to choose from now I don't know where to start, multiplier/fixed spool, 12ft or more. how easy are modern multipliers to use? any recommendations would be much appreciated.
Also, the missus is going to give it a go too, yes, I know: any idea what size rod etc. would be best suited for her, she's been trout & boat fishing before but never tried the beach she's actually got a decent cast, oh she's left handed if the makes any difference.
many thanks

to start of mate afixed spool reel will suit you. a large fixed spool fitted with 15lb line and 50-60 lb shockleader. 12ft rod is perfect. i use the leeda oylimic 12ft beachcaster. brilliant rod and it only cost 25 pounds.

regards

ollie

Re: help/advice needed

thanks for the advice, thinking about 14/15ft rods & fixed spool, hopefully that will help with the casting?
