Walton-on-the-naze pier 1/5/09

Hi all,
Fished Walton on the date. Arrived at midday,Hot and sunny.Great cafe at pier head for breakfast,tackle shop 200yards further down road. Easy non paying parking.
Fished the tide up,mainly small pout and odd small bass. was advised to use squid had nothing so I changed to rag and peeler on the second rod. fished straight off top of pier.
Had 6 small pout and small bass, just after high tide the peeler rod gave a frantic nod and a fine fat cod of 4 pounds was landed.
Great day and sunny weather, Only problem I forgot the suntan lotion and got burnt.

well done mate. this year on walton pier all ive use for bait is squid, in total this winter ive had 200+ cod codling from walton and 400 from the boats all on just squid on a 4/0 pulley rig. i post my reports and picture on another chat room. me and 8 friend when to orford NARROWS last weekend we had 20+ cod to 5 1/2 pounds lost count on dogie and a few whiting this week firday nite we are of to aldeburgh
