| Ragworm is good for plaice & most other species besides. Sandeel might also get you a Ray. Get you bait from Weymouth Angling Centre or Dennings Tackle on the Portland road as the Bait from the tackle shop at West Bay is usually crap. They will also give you good advice as to where & how to fish. Good luck. __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey... |

| Re: Beach Fishing from Burton Bradstock Dorset this venue is one of my thoughts for this thursday, under the cliff to the right is a reef which is good if you like reefy type fish like pout/ wrasse/ bass/ pollock & maybee conger or huss?? and of course loosing rigs to the snags. a cast of 40 odd yds will put you in the snags if i remember right, i might have to try that just fer a change coz i never fish that end these days , did i say you could catch pout there? coz they're probably most prolific, esp' after dark. under the left hand cliff is cleaner ground so less likelyhood of looseing rigs should be good for doggies , pout, rays, bass gurnard , maybee a plaice, and more pout or dogs. worm baits- pout ,wrasse, gurnard, plaice. squid baits/fish baits(mackerel or sandeel etc,)- everything else. pealer/hermit crab,- i'd take some if i thought smoothys were there yet. slim chance of mackerel at dawn or dusk high water to daylight /tinsel /feathers. just my thoughts at the moment, who knows i might just go on thursday , i'll post if i do. __________________ beer so many venues, so little time. |
