What to catch in April?

Hello All,

I'm going down to Newquay the first weekend in April, and wanted to get a days fishing in. I was looking for some advice on what to try and catch, and the best method for that time of year. Any help would be much appreciated.

So newquay cornwall not nequay west wales should be producing bass off the beaches and flounder off the little harbour wall, I would not discount the possibility of garfish having arrived in the area followed by the mackerel as they both seem to feed off the same whitebait

So, do you reckon I might have some luck fishing on feathers off the harbour then?

You may have but if you notice someone else catching watch what they are using I would use those small (size 4 ish? hookeyes lures you may pick up mackerel or gars but no gaurentees
