| Re: south parade pier , portsmuth not sure about your area, but the few simple rules I now stick by are: 1, Look where everyone else is fishing and get there before them the next day. 2, ask your local tackle shop what is being taken on what bait. they always get reports from local fishermen. make sure you are using the right rig as well (i prefer 3 hook flapper for flatties) 3, every time you wind in, stick fresh bait on your hooks. (i always have a second rig baited up, waiting. then its easy, just undo snap swivel and swap) 4, never take any advice on a fishing forum as gospel, because we have bad days too and can't figure out why 5, fish right to the bitter end.some of my best fish have been caught when everyone else has packed up and gone to the pub. or all of the above could be utter carp. |
