Looe, Seaton, Downderry, Cornwall Hi, Bit of a novice sea fisher (Shore/beach/Rock) and wondered if anyone could help ? I've off to Cornwall for a few days over Easter and wanted some tips on where and what to fish for this time of year, as normally I go to Cornwall in the summer and just spin during the day or a straight forward 2 hook trace with rag or lug for night fishing, and catch the odd whitting and dog fish, but nothing ever very substaintial. Is it possbile to catch conger/tope from the beach in Looe, Seaton, Downderry or surrounding, or any big fish as only ever caught fish around the 4-5lb mark..... and I'm a bit tired of catching fish you can't really feel on the line....... Any sugguestions on location, bait etc...... any help to catch a fish to remember would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks ![]()

Re: Looe, Seaton, Downderry, Cornwall Hi, I've been looking through other posts trying to get some idea's and came across discussions on livebait which I've never used and quite like the idea of, and there is a rig diagram which shows a small bait hook tied/wired onto the large main hook, with idea of baiting the small hook to catch the live bait to then left out, to solve the problem of lossing live bait on a beach cast. I presume this is something the pros on here would make themselves, but could anyone advise where I could buy these and what they are called ? Cheers Tim

Re: Looe, Seaton, Downderry, Cornwall Could suggest Tallard Bay which is west of Looe towards Polperro, its a very rocky bays, but dawn or dusk on a rising tide could be good for a early Large Bass to spinner or plug, but hang on to your rod and be prepared for a good fight also....... watch your footing as the rocks are slippy and mind the tide dont come in behind you.. this place was discribed to me as fishing on the edge. tightlines
