Hayling, When!!!! Here’s a question for all of you Hayling boys. Having only been fishing a couple of times on Hayling after decades of not, I managed to hook a grand total of nothing over a total period of about 13 hours. I know that it's not just me as nobody else caught anything either. ![]() Now don’t get me wrong, I love being by the sea, chilled out and full of anticipation for that enormous great whale that is bound to take my rag at any second, breaking all known British records. But my question is, when can I expect mine and everyone else’s chances to start increasing, are we at the cusp of that time of year when rather than hope for the tiny bite of a weaver, I can start hoping for bucket full’s of fish? I know it’s a newb question but have some pity and humour me. Thanks again. Karl.

Re: Hayling, When!!!! It's that horrible time of year when the water starts to warm and cold species move off shore but the water is not warm enough for the warm water species. If that makes much sense? Give April may time when the makkie gar and mullet move in. tj

Re: Hayling, When!!!! Being a fishing tart, I'm always amazed at the way some folks fish. Regardless of season, weather or tide it's a pound of ragworms stuffed on to two hooks and drowned for long periods. I'm partly lucky in so much as I've fished between Bognor > Eastney > Bermuda over the past 55 bruddy years. (I've already forgotten the question ...). Ah, yes ... this is my seasonal chart for Hayling - ![]() Unfortunately, it doesn't apply to Bognor. I still feel sorry for good King George who coined the phrase 'Booger Bognor'; but he wasn't well at the time. He should have gone to Pagham instead (if yer gets me drift). Here's some more krap I wrote regarding Hayling ... http://www.total-fishing.co.uk/Fishe...hayling_island I got 3 and 4 pence for that one. Here's another I prepared earlier fer Scotland (wherever that is?) .... http://www.planetseafishing.com/ Try plaice on the remaining tides left this week ... personally I'm emigrating to Eastney .... ![]() the local ones have terrible orange acne, though ... don't eat them. Put the diseased orange 'pussy' ones back ... ![]() Thank you. ![]()
