How to target cod & wher in kent

Hi everyone,

I need a bit of help with this one as ive never targeted cod before. Im fishing a cod rover at the beginning of jan with a boundary from sheerness to dungeness & am gonna be fishing about 10 hours straight. Firstly i aint got a clue on what rigs or hook size to use & have a rough idea on baits but would still love to hear your choices. Also any marks that have the possibility of chucking up some fish throughout the 10 hours.

a nice big smelly bait of 5 or 6 lug on a pennel rig usually does the trick down this way neil,as for venues well dungie has been fishing its socks off lately but dont discount the piers at dover or deal
