spinning between Margate and Hythe ? Hi all - I am new to the site and have been away from sea fishing for years. I have only done a little coarse fishing in the interim. I have always wanted to try lure fishing and have been given some light lure fishing equipment which I would like to use in the sea between Margate and Hythe over the coming year, so my question is .... What are the good marks between Margate and Hythe and what can I expect to catch by spinning from the beach / rocks (or anywhere else ?) and is this something that I can do all year round ? Any advice or replies will be much appreciated !

Re: spinning between Margate and Hythe ? hello mate, firstly welcome to the forum, spinning is largely a summer thing, with bass, mackerel, scad and maybe a pollack your likely catches, i am unsure about the venues up in thanet, but possibly kingsdown, the warren and certainly sandgate should be worth a cast or two, maybe we could wet a line together one day

Re: spinning between Margate and Hythe ? Hi Paul, Purely a summer thing - presumably because the water may be calmer and clearer ? I hadn't thought of Kingsdown but my plan will be to walk the dog at some of these venues over the next few months to get a feel. Would love to take you up on your offer next year - I reckon I could pick your brain for hours ! Cheers Steve

its a summer thing because the type of fish that you can catch on a lure are around then, they disappear to warmer places in the winter Quote:
