| Greg, wait until May/June and pop along to Boscombe Pier. Drop on to the beach and spin along the legs of the pier. You should be able to reach the 5th leg with a Toby and a spinning rod. If you want to try the beach, amble along the groynes between Boscombe Pier and Bournemouth Pier, spinning along the sides of the groynes. You never know, you might even bump into me doing the exact same thing in the summer. Paul. __________________ Back to the fizzy pop league for another season |

| Greg, 2 hrs before HW and 2 after is normally pretty good. Don't bother on really small neap tides. Best times are in the evening going towards dusk and darkness. Mackeral tend to like the tide run at the ends of the piers (this is difficult at Boscombe ) and bass, garfish and mullet tend to be a little more sheltered and you'll find these close under the supports of the pier. There are a couple of Mullet enthusiasts on the forum so they will offer more advice for those fish. Try Steve.
