Re: Devon Shore Meet - not long now

Thank you Old smooth hound and Pingup, much appreciated. Look forward to seeing you.
Also looking forward to watching ol 4 rods moving a giant rod around the breakwater every half hour! Complete with, presumably, masses of gear, nets, bait wagon, tripods, bivvy, beer, small trawler, harpoon gun, sonar, radar, vhf, dvd, live bait bucket, kitchen sink and cooking apparatus.
Only joking Simon, I'm bringing some strong lads and they'll help!
Kindest regards,
Jules.

Re: Devon Shore Meet - not long now

Well, I'll be there with my telescopic rod, possibly a rod rest and very small tackle box as I have to try to fit the family and dog in my car together with our bags for the weekend. Still, I guess I'll just have to visit the tackle shop and buy a few bits and pieces ;)

Smile Re: Devon Shore Meet - not long now

Simon,

How far do we need to cast with either float or pulley rigs? or do we fish close in?

Like you i just bought a new rod... Ziplex 4500 so would want to give a try.

Cheers
Shaun

Re: Devon Shore Meet - not long now

Most fish get caught close in (30- 100 yards).

That is a very nice rod, was thinking of getting one myself so let me know how you get on with it.

Cool Re: Devon Shore Meet - not long now

Cheers Simon,

I took the plunge and glad i did, it has a sliding reel seat so can have the reel up or down the butt.

If you are thinking of getting one, you can try mine first on Saturday if you want.

Thanks for the Info.

See you saturday.

Cheers
Shaun

Re: Devon Shore Meet - not long now

Yeah if you don't mind I'd love to. I've heard some really good things about it but I'd love to try first hand before I buy.
