Rinstead Bay near Weymouth

Has anyone ever fished here?

I used to go here as a lad for beach parties, seem to remember it had a nice rocky corner and a good beach, seems to me it could be a good venue, I might just go give it a bash as it keeps popping into my mind.

Re: Rinstead Bay near Weymouth

This can be very productive. As you get down to the beach you have a Reef 40-50 yrds in front which you, which the usual species hang out upon. Bass, Wrasse, the odd Ray, have all been caught there!
To the right and left it opens out to sand and shingle-pebbles. Ive only really fished the reef and to the right, with bottom baits and lures etc. The reef is liable to claim a few rigs if your casting is out!
Watch out for Parking fees. A bit on the high side. (During the day only. Free at night.) You can park in the National trust car park for free, but its at the top of a very big hill and a tiresome walk back!
Red Cliff near Osmington is good but again a long walk from the nearest safe carpark.
Enjoy!

Re: Rinstead Bay near Weymouth

There is always a good chance of a Conger if you fish the reef at night. It also produces a good number of nice size Sole, especially this time of year.
