Post Tried my hand at Beach Fishing

Hi All,

Being a new comer to Sea boat fishing I thought that it would be fun to try my hand at some beach fishing, espically as I live near to the coast line.

Having read some literature, took some advice from my local tackle shop, brought a fladden beach power stick, reel and some rag worm off I went in pursuit of happiness. Along with a six pack for company!

Went down to Barton beach in Hampshire, early evening, warm night with slight breeze, using two hook bomber rigs. My first couple of casts were a disaster as the line on my reel bird nested! I decided to come off the rocks and move down to beach where I had several sucessful casts, in that they didnt tangle or nest! After an hours fishing I finally had a bite, I was over the moon as I reeled in a 2 and a half pound sea bass. Happy Days!!! A little fish but boy was it fun!

I had another bass around the 2lb mark with in 10 minutes of the first catch so they are definately coming in close to the shoreline at Barton, espically as my casts dont have much distance, just yet!

Happy days and Tight lines.

Re: Tried my hand at Beach Fishing

Cheers guys, I'm going out back down Barton beach this weekend with a couple of mates to try again with some variation to the rigs. Hopefully try to nail a flatty?

Tight lines one & all.
