Re: Beachcaster novice needs advice

I think I am sorted for a reel now. What about rods what length and casting weight would you recommend.

I want a rod with plenty of feel and light as well if possible anyone recommend any that they use and love?

Keep the info coming it is priceless

I like my pair of Penn Evo Vipers. I bought one and I was so impressed I had to get another. They are 13' 4 " long and designed to cast 4-6 ounces. The reel seat if adjustable - either reel up or down. Matched with a Penn 525 Supermag you cannot go wrong.

Have a look on e-bay mate and get yourself a second hand zzippy, something like a 3500s or a 4500 will cope with rough ground and be fine for beach work.
You should be able to get one for about £150 second hand.
Century CM would be another very good choice.
You wont go wrong with either of these two makes, class.
