Question beachcasting and pva bags

In course fishing they use pva bags.Has anyone tried using pva bags when beachcasting to give extra scent around the bait. If so, how was they used on the rig and did you find that they worked? Do they stay on when chucking them out 100+ yds?

thanks for any info,

tufty

Re: beachcasting and pva bags

I've often thought about freezing some liquidiseing some crab, worm & fish etc to make a sort of rubby dubby & freezing it around a lead. Keeping it in a vaccum flask or cool bag & using it at close range to set up a scent trail when fishing. Never got around to trying it yet though.

Re: beachcasting and pva bags

well i did wonder about using pva as an alternative to bait elastic to try and stop the bait being "washed out" before the lead reaches the bottom.. dunno if it would work though

Re: beachcasting and pva bags

only problem is it only takes a small amoutn of moisture to melt the bags but it is possible to tie a bag around a dry lead and filling it with trout pellets!!!= like already said good for estuary fishing etc!

Re: beachcasting and pva bags

it would be much easier to use a carp anglers spod , this is a tube filled with holes ,which has a poly ball on one end ,fill it cast it it tips up and pours out your bait

Re: beachcasting and pva bags

hm i never thought about a spod.. that maybe a way to beat the seagulls stealing balls of bread i throw out for my mullet groundbait...although the seagulls would probably soon learn the spod is full of food lol
