Although you'll be fishing on sand you have a lot of rocks just below where you stand so having more than one hook can be problematic because when you reel in a fish they all tend to head under the rocks increasing the chance of you snagging a free hook on them.

If your rod is long enough and you are in a location where you can climb down the rocks then a 2 up 1 down rig will work. Failing that having a free flowing rig with one hook is probably the best bet. As long as you have a float going as well you'll find you should be quite busy.

Re: Devon Meet - Saturday 2nd October 2004

I couldn't help but notice ol mr 4 rods only telling what he's doing with 2 of them! I bet one of the others gets rigged for seagulls to get an edge on the species front.
Regards, Jules

Doesn't look like it. Maybe I better go to the meet with just half of one rod :)

I can't edit my original post so if an admin could it would be great:

As you drive up towards the breakwater and the berry head hotel instead of turning left into the breakwater drive another 100 yards and turn right into that car park. This car park charges £5 a day compared to £7 a day on the breakwater.

Re: Devon Meet - Saturday 2nd October 2004

The other car park is connected via a tunnel and a short one at that so unless you are disabled etc you wont notice the extra few yards.
