these days most people are unwilling to stop and offer help either because they feel they dont have time and its not their problem or they may feel unsafe approaching a stranger in a remote location . its sad that in this country now people are a little insular and reserved when it comes to offering unsolicted help, but i can understand it , when on one occasion i stopped to offer assistance and got told to 'sod off'. all that guy needed to say was ' ok mate thanks for stopping but i don't need help' and i would have felt a damn sight less disgruntled. people just don't seem to know how to speak to each other these days , and i'm as guilty as most. on a more positive note;- [color="Red"]a big thanx to the guy who assisted jump starting my car this morning , a polite request is all it took and he came up trumps with a set of leads COLOR].i fel asleep in a layby but left me lights on , as i returned from the selsey meet ![]() __________________ 2008, sessions..26, total blanks..3 species,..20 its easier for a man to destroy the light within himself than to defeat the darkness all around him. |

Re: brighton Have never fished the Marina, but feel like giving it a go (prob West Arm to start with) Found the web site very informative, but it doesn't tell you how to get tickets. Do you need to get them from the Tackle Box before you start ? ....or does someone come along selling them? __________________ Nothing matters very much, few things matter at all - Plato ...only things like fresh bait and cold beer - Vagabond

Re: brighton A guy will come along the arm and sell you a ticket whilst you are fishing. Check they have proper ID and give you a proper ticket. Dave (the bald headed chap in tackle box shop) will also be able to sell you a ticket before you start if you're in the shop prior to going fishing.

Re: brighton LOL Duff tickets sound a profitable sideline! Anyway, thanks for the info - we would probably prefer an early start before the tackle shop is open. __________________ Nothing matters very much, few things matter at all - Plato ...only things like fresh bait and cold beer - Vagabond

Re: brighton Had a session on the inshore part of the East arm yesterday, on the float and prawn. But it was very poor. Saw a few small wrasse come up from down the wall, and there were plenty of mackerel around past the bend (pegs 15+) but for me just a few missed bites, from something with a passion for biting prawn heads off!! __________________ WWW.DVICE.CO.UK Where Fishing Gets Easier

Re: brighton Hey Geff, Definately not the best year for the bass, to date, although the next few months are usually the best. Suprising on other things though, like Red Mullet and definately the best hound year on record.(Fopr exactly the period of time I was landlocked in Eastern Europe!) I suspect that these fish are expanding everywhere though, perhaps filling the gaps left by the thinning of other species! Just a point, thick lipped mullet can be caught in their dozens on harbour rag in the autumn, when they are shoaling prior to departure from their summer haunts. I wonder if this was the situation you had on the Adur? __________________ WWW.DVICE.CO.UK Where Fishing Gets Easier

Re: brighton Hi Rob - I was down on the east arm in bay 13 on Saturday between midday and 8pm and there was quite a lot of mackerel about. Most were being caught on the feathers but the guy next to me caught about 20 on a strip of mackerel belly on the float about 12' down. A few other things such as the odd garfish and the usual wrasse close to the wall were being caught near me. I had a nice red mullet towards the end of the day.

Re: brighton Nice one lucky. I reckon I will be going full out on a live mackerel assault when I am down there next. Very specific method for bass unless that Great White wanders round from Cornwall.....!! __________________ WWW.DVICE.CO.UK Where Fishing Gets Easier
