fresh or preserved

Am new to this and was wondering what you guys opinion of preserved bait is. I have seen packs of it and wondered if it was value for money and good for catching or a waste of time

Re: fresh or preserved

most bait in my opinion is ok to have in your tackle box if you run out of fresh,
there is no substitute for a good fresh bait

Re: fresh or preserved

we had a few people try Lazy lug, and there seemed to be a good reaction, I am never organised enough to buy bait in advance so have never tried it.

Maybe we could get Richard to contact them and get free samples for us to do an exhaustive forum trial.

Re: fresh or preserved

Can't beat fresh, never tried lazy stuff as beach is only down the road from me. Have noticed in the past that decent salted and oiled frozen has done well at certain times of the year though. Lug that is!!!

Re: fresh or preserved

not impressed by frozen but used it as a backup. I once took some smelly lug on blue mink out of fleetwood and outfished all on board. the lug had been overlooked and left in the car for 2 days before we found it and I threw it in the freezer. I did the car out with 2 bottles of air freshener.
