 Bass before Work Woke up this morning with a good SW gale blowing and knowing that high tide was 10 oclock, I hurried the kids off to school and decided that I would have a quick hour before I turned up for work. Conditions were perfect for plugging. A good wind from my right hand shoulder and a lot of foaming white water at my favourite spot. Tried a few casts with my favourite X-Raps but noted that the wind bowed the line too much and caused the plugs to skip accross the surface rather than under it. Changed to a J-13 Silver and instantly had a fish of around 2lb. Next cast same spot and another 2lb fish. A couple of my mates turned up, had a look at what I was using and they tackled up the same Way. Edgar managed to find a nice 4lb fish after a couple of casts then followed that shortly after with a better fish that he lost when his line parted after trying to hand line it up the cliff. After being there for an hour I really had to go, but not before Edgar managed another nice Bass of around 5lb. What a great way to start the day      |
