Bass Plugging I have been out a couple of evenings in the past week and had some lovely Bass on the Plug. Nothing big all around the 3 to 4lb mark. I spent two 1 1/2hr session's between 5.45pm and 7.15pm when the light faded and landed 4 on the first session and 8 on the next session. They all came from Portland Bill using Rapala X-Raps or floating jointed J-13 Silver. The most popular was a Salmon Pink X-Rap accounting for over half the fish. The sea was rough to say the least. It was great fun having your retrive stopped dead then line peeling of against the clutch. ![]() __________________ Check my blog for a daily fishing forecast from Weymouth, Portland, Chesil Beach & Kimmeridge Bay. www.fishingtails.co.uk

Re: Bass Plugging Hi P.P You dont know how much i envy u. I find plugging one of the best ways to fish, did a lot of it down the SE where i used to live, very rarely get to go now. Wish " er behind the door" would bloody move nearer the sea. Keep the reports coming. Have you tried a jointed beano eel? they are a bit light an they can tangle a bit, but the movement is deadly.

Re: Bass Plugging i1`m sure i bought them on www.harrisangling.co.uk Just looked on there now and could not find them.! They are jointed 4 or maybe 5 times with a vain on the front and a treble at the back, and another under the head. I had one silver and another fire tiger. tricky to cast because the tail would flickround andthe tail treble would snag the line, but when it worked the movement was wicked. Do you try diff lures or just stick to the ones you know that works? Ever done Salt Water Fly , i have all the gear and have experience trout on the fly, i can only guess what a Bass would go like. Might get chance to do it this year, going to Shell Island in Wales a few times. Will try and source some more info for you reg beano. l8ter Sk8ter
