lure advice please Can someone recommend a surface or mid surface lure or spinner for bass. I 'm fishing in fast flowing 2-3ft deep murky water over rough ground. I have tried a cple of my spinners using a float to avoid them sinking but I'm concerned the float being so close to the spinner might spook the fish out. Thanks

Re: lure advice please There's a lot of really good stuff from PRADCo (www.lurenet.com) that is mostly designed for North American black bass, but they lend themselves well to other species in both fresh and saltwater in most cases. __________________ 2012 species: 13 All-time species: 65 New species caught in 2012: white sucker, popeye shiner, white shiner

Re: lure advice please Maybe try something like this very shallow diver. http://www.monstertackle.co.uk/fishi...ow-DCM12F.html All kinds of poppers and surface lures worth trying in water that shallow i,m a big fan of the Lucky Craft Sammy, Storm Chug Bug, Heddon super spook and zara spook. Most have internal rattles which will help if the water is murky. Just a few ideas for you Frenchy. __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger

Re: lure advice please Try a mann's minus series lure. They float on the surface but when cranked hard they dive to the ammount of feet on the lure. I.E. a Mann's -1 lure will only dive 1 foot under the surface. If you hit a snag and stop the retrieve they'll pop back to the surface. They come in various sizes and colours and all predetors love thier action. Seems the perfect choice for the conditions you mentioned. __________________ I'D RATHER HAVE A BOTTLE IN FRONT OF ME THAN A FRONTAL LABOTOMY

Re: lure advice please I'll have to give a second on the Mann's crankbaits. I've caught a lot of largemouth bass on Mann's lures, and a lot of bug-time fishing tournaments have been won in North America, Japan, and Brasil on them. __________________ 2012 species: 13 All-time species: 65 New species caught in 2012: white sucker, popeye shiner, white shiner

Re: lure advice please I don't know how readily available these brands are in the UK, but on most of my lure-fishing excursions I carry shallow divers and surface plugs from Rebel, Bomber, Cotton Cordell, Smithwick, Creek Chub, Heddon, XCalibur, Imakatsu, ima, Yo-Zuri, Lucky Craft, Tru-Tungsten, Gr8lake, Reaction Strike, Evergreen, Bass Pro Shops, Mirr-O-Lure, Matzuo, Rapala, Storm, Mann's, Nichols Bait Co., Blaze, Deps, C'ultiva, Splash Club, Koppers, and Strike King. I'd recommend any of those brands, in terms of well-made lures, for most any predatory fish species. __________________ 2012 species: 13 All-time species: 65 New species caught in 2012: white sucker, popeye shiner, white shiner
