| Re: Bass Fishing In Teignmouth Regarding eels in the week, hopefully we should have them all day. The tides to go out fishing are early in the morning so it should suit all. Lets just hope the weather gets better!! | Re: Bass Fishing In Teignmouth Ooooooooh, for someone who lives in Dawlish, the Teign is very close. Think I may have to read this thread in a little more detail. I saw some bloke at night fishing off the bridge, as I was driving back from Torquay. I thought he was nuts to fish there, but obviously he knew something I didn't, do do now. |

| Re: Bass Fishing In Teignmouth Right - I've had my first legal 36+cm bass out of the Teign, which I'm very happy with BUT, I'm somewhat confused by the legal "nursery" issues, mainly to not being very good with my geography Where is THIS area? All tidal waters enclosed by a line drawn 000° true from the Ness to the southernmost leading light This is what is supposed to be the cutoff for fishing for bass. Is this below or above Shaldon bridge? I don't know anything about the Ness or this leading light?! Where are they?! |

| Re: Bass Fishing In Teignmouth Hi everyone. I was out on a rather nippy speedboat today, and couldn't help seeing a line of fishermen along the Shaldon side of the river, at low tide, lobbing lures into the stream. Would that be a good place to Rapala from? And might it catch some decent bass at low tide. I noticed that the Teignmouth side (i.e the spit) was hardly being fished from at all. Does the natural "stream" of the river hug the Shaldon side more than the Tiegnmouth side? Might pop down there one evening if thats the case. Is LOW tide really the time to go as well? :-) __________________ Jason Got the flavour for fishing back! |

| HI, Just a little helpful info on the legalities of bass fishing in the Teign It is only Illegal to fish for bass by boat from inside the mouth of the river (between the end of the ness and the end of the pier) You can fish legally from shore and with any bait you choose including live sandeels.Fishing from the bridge is illegal but people do in large numbers without any problem. I myself would not fish from the bridge as it is not a great spot for large fish but i would happily let any keen angler know where and how. Hope I have been of assistance and look forward to using this site again (I am looking for shore cod fishing marks if anybody can help me? |
