Talking BASS on the BRAIN!

this year one of my main target species is BASS, i have not done a lot of bass fishing before but have got lucky when mackerel fishing once or twice!

with the weather and resulting fish patterns being a bit strange and somewhat out of time, i have made this thread specifically for peeps to report on bass activity in their areas, for example SHARPY had a very succesful trip in weymouth (well done mate! ).

i think that i could do with some help in respects of when they are around and what techniques and baits are working best at any particular time.

hoping for the best for everyone!!!!!

Re: BASS on the BRAIN!

CHUBB, you should get in touch with Wellyfish and Kiwimarty, as they seem to catch lots of bass, and around your area too I think.

Re: BASS on the BRAIN!

Yup they are. The tackle shop down by Torquay harbor is another place for lots of good info because the owner (Simon as well) goes bassing quite a lot.

i usually get my info from brixham bait and tackle cos that is nearer and i fish a lot more in brixham than i do in torquay, but this year i am aiming to get down hope's nose more.

i have only been purposely fishing for bass once and that was when i went to cornwall for them, i fished a storm beach and got a little one but i lost a nice one because it broke my 45lb shockleader!!!!

the only times i ahev caught them otherwise is as i said before, when i am floating for mackerel, and that was in about 5 foot of water at goodrington promenade!!!!!

still, i am going to be spinning for them all summer, starting this easter!
