Bass rod and reel?

Can any members recommend a decent rod/reel combo for bass/sea troot, for bait fishing from the beach.....I would not like to spend any more than say £120 to £150........I am not trying to be a 'skinflint'....But since my return to fishing after many years away from it, tackle has moved on a long way, and so has the prices for top of the range gear.

BUT.....there always seems to be 'gems' at reasonable prices.....Salmon fishing..AWM rods at £100...that has had rave reviews...bettering rods at 4 times the price.......Troot fishing.....Skakespeare rods, again getting rave reviews, at under £30......And i suspect that there might just be a 'gem' out there regarding Bass fishing, at a reasonable price.....Any suggestions?

thank you

Brian

Re: Bass rod and reel?

You cant go wrong with a shaky salt bass rod for the price , as for reel id go for a daiwa slosh , your get both second hand for 120 maybe new for 150 , you would need to shop about

VERY GOOD COMBO
i would personally look for a shorter rod my self,a 11ft.6 is a lot of rod to use a spinner on ,, soon make your arm ache
i use 7/8 foot

Re: Bass rod and reel?

Been using Penn 7500ss or penn 706 for 15 plus years,i fish surf and dead stick bait. both reels are great, you take care of them and you will be saving money on not having to replace them...there is NO equal to them.

Rod: theres many, size,i never use anything more then 10.5 ft...the only reason to go longer is,bait fishing with sand spike you may have weeds this will get you sometimes over close weed line. you are not gaining any big distance and you have more control when casting to a spot where you see activity.

Rods with value

Ugly stick, very popular here-good for distance and sensativity.

penn makes many, check the weights you are using on tins and feel you control, control is the key. Many times see fish, cast to fish, catch the fish..u miss fish wins

most important use a teasar

TIGHT LINES

SURFGUY
