from the shore what have you found the best way of catching them?? because i love eating them and had ago last year but didnt get a single 1
i was using 1 of the things with a hook and a shinny bit of plastic, about 4 hooks in total

i either use feathers(think thats what your on about) spinners or go on float

i use feathers when theres lots around and i need them, spinners for the sport and float when i want to get gar aswel

when you say float do you mean a big float and a hook with bait?? if so what type of bait do you use?? i know there are lots of gar which can be caught at low tide where i live because i have seen people there in the summer getting 100's of them

nor have i up close, this person was on the other side of this chanel thing cause where i live is on the point where the river hamble reachers southampton waters and at low tide there is a chanel about 20-30m wide and i was on 1 side and he was on the other( i wasnt getting a thing :evil: )

ye bigish float set very shallow with mackeral strip or sand eel as bait

can do the same but set deeper with crab or worm for wrasse etc
