the general

in hayle where i fish at the moment there are loads of fisherman after what they call the general. i suppose most people think im talkin rubbish but the general is in fact a bass well over 2 feet long and weighs an estimated 8lb! i hooked this bass the other day on whole peeler crab and it snapped with a sudden dive. apparently this is not the first time this has happened to someone. i have found the best bait this time of year is peeler crab and mackeral.i have got some pics of me and mymates catches last week which include some bream and a bass. PEELER CRAB IS THE WAY TO GO! use it and catch bass

Cool Re: the general

Sorry to hear you lost it mate... better luck next time maybe up rate your line and he won't get away. The General eh.... must give my pal a call at MJB Tyres and find out more.

I'm a believer in peeler.... gosh a poet and don't know it!!

I Like to use it for Bass and Smoooooothounds. Or when it can give me the edge.

Re: the general

thought it was only big carp/freshwater fish that got names, as territorial.
but good luck on the hunt for him, adds an extra element to the chase

Re: the general

yep mate, i reckon peeler is without doubt the top bait 4 bass it will out fish everthing else by an unbelievable margin. live eel from a boat on the drift is the only ecception. well thats my view.

Re: the general

already stated on another thread that most of us shore anglers carry too much gear when going fishing, not sure I can fit A boat into my tackle box, sure its the one piece of kit that would really help us as well, maybe could use simons helecopter though, makes distance casting easier as well

Re: the general
