Re: Hythe, kent

Hi mate,

I'm certainly intending to have a spin down there this summer.. never tried before, be very interested to see how you get on.

I can't imagine that it would be much cop further along the groynes at Prince's Parade, as the water's always pretty coloured there, but I've had schoolies from fisherman's beach at the far-end, so no harm in trying.

What sort of gear have you got for spinning? Carp Rod? What sort of plugs/spinners did you get?

Cheers,
JB.

Re: Hythe, kent

i have done a bit of plug fishing in hythe, not quite hythe actually but sandgate,it is generally thought that sandgate is a better bass venue than hythe, the ground is rougher,
don't neglect your own back yard alzpalz , i have heard of some good fish off the rotunda beach in folkestone, might be worth a try.

Re: Hythe, kent

You might want to try the Warren at Folkstone, if you troll through some of the pages on this link you may find it interesting.

Going to Margate next week for a cheeky plug/spin.

Re: Hythe, kent

To be honest i will try anything and i have got around 20 different ones.

Rap. J11, J13
Beano Eel ( green/Yellow )
Rap. Countdown
poppers
propellor type things!

You cannot get better than Toby/Dexter lures

On my favourite mark *one night i landed 12 Bass to 3lb and had takes and lost at least 6 more. ( there are BIG BASS here, but they are normally caught on crab/prwn/Squid.
You should try float/ ledgered LIVE PRAWN, i rate this bait better than peeler,
If you are putting them on the hook nip them through the tail 2 at a time, they do not get on 2gther and scrap like mad, hence the vibrations attract "Mr Bass" even in dirty water.

I live in Birmingham now, but was fishing Thanet up untill 2 years ago.

Ramsgate:
Try the *Ferry Terminal* LW bit tricky for access now, this is the outside wall by the Artificial Beach, you can pick up your prawns here, against the rocks.
Fish the Inner terminal HW with prawn, next to the West Pier by the boat yard.
Margate:
North Forland Sewage pipe at LW, the Bass are at your feet, gets busy though, best go at 05.00 am ish, you can pick up Edibles/Swimmers peelers here, just stick em on the hook , no weight, and let the tide wash em around, or Float/plug/Spin.

Hope his helps, but dont always think that because the water is dirty that you will not catch, fish sense vibrations, so something that wiggles/virbrates will catch fish.

Hope u catch this Summer, got no bloody chance living in Brum, (but the Gower is only 3 Hours away)

P.S.
Going to Wales this W/end to watch the Mighty Gooners take on Moanchester Red Socks.

Shall i take me Rods, naw, be 2 Pissed.
