Re: Lures for bass

Good answer Lure Maker at lest you are willing to see if there is 'MABY' an alternative to plugging.
Joking aside the French really do know there soft lures they fish with very light tackle and braid so they need minimum lead for the head of the lure.

PS Did you get my last PM ?

Not done it myself but Henry Gilbey has been writing about soft plastics etc a lot recently. He's just got back from a trip to France too.

Check out his blog.

I tortured myself by downloading a Bass Fishing Video by Henry Gilbey - i knew my blood would boil and it took all of 10 seconds - he should stick to taking photos.
i've never know anyone talk so much crud and his adjectives amount to about 3 - and yes MOTHER seems to be one from his repetoire lol - along with the tide MULLERING in ..
I used to make leadheads in all shapes and sizes and have fished them with 4 inch shads and 6 inch firetails to great effect on the boat after Pollack and Cod ..

Re: Lures for bass

These mothering mullet are mullering the mashed bread...........it's almost a shame he fishes such nice spots , that then gives me a reason to watch. I have even turned the volume OFF so I can enjoy it. Best bit for me was when he was mashing bread and rancid mackerel near a diving board in Ireland. He was at the point of heaving the whole time. Then a ton of kids and people turn up, I assume after church or something . Sorry Mate but what did you really think was going to happen other than a loud of people to turn up the minute you commit all that bait to a watery grave. Dispite the mouth movement I do enjoy the program, just.
