Talking barbel fishing

i had a great days barbel fishing at anchore medow warwickshire avon harvington near evesham only managed to get the 1 barbel out which was about 4lb lost 3 due to me having barbless hooks which i use for carp fishing next time i will get the right gear and buy barbed ones i had a really nice chub as well fish just down from the weir the day was spoiled by sum local lads who were swimming in the river and decided to walk across the weir to the oposite bank to the pub and come back with beer in hand and sit in the middle of my swim on a shingle bank in the middle of the river in the morning i had counted up to 15 lovely barbel in the narrow swim i was fishing what a veiw to see off the top of th bank first thing in the morning i thought it was goin to be my lucky day but never mind i enjoyed it anyway im going again on saturday taking black widow with me next time lets see if they like those hallibut pellets on the back of the earhole lol

well done on the barbel and chub, shame about losing 3, but you still caught, and i've heard barbel do love halibut pellets, so good luck when you go again!!

going this saturday if u would like to join me its only 25 miles from where i live there are three other members coming from nelson angling club stockton fishing club aswell so come along should be a good day wheather permiting because they are on about heavy rain for that area it holds a good head of bream in the main river and carp of about 48lb
i will go find the wab site and post it on

see in the photos the big white house in the back ground thats the pub that they all want to go across to and that was another luck scott who caught a 48lb carp on a worm on the edge of the bank.
