| hi, im going barble fishing for my birthday, i was thinking of the ouse or the severn to fish. ive been fishing with my dad for 4-5 months, i have caught a few 10lb carp and a 13lb ghost just to name a few, ive heard barble put up a big fight so im not quite sure what line i should be using. ive got a nice ledger rod and a lot of feeders to play around with but i dont know what feeder to use, should i be casting up stream or close to the oppersite bank. If anyone can tell me line, hook size, tips, feeder, hookbait or ground bait it would be a huge help, thank you. Last edited by MRG2000; 12-31-2011 at 11:42 AM. |

| Re: Barble fishing HELP the severn is my local river most of it is baa owned or kda ,,you can buy a day baa ticket from local shops for the baa stretches ,,stan lewis in bewdley is one av a look on line ,,,,, i usually fish the Trimpley stretch accesed from northwood lane in Bewdley ,it has the lot deeps glides shallow runs ect,,,a good feeder 6lb line and 4lb hook link to 14 hook is about right though i use carp set up on a barble rod with a running lead and a crab boilie on a hair 8 boilie hook ,,most baits work meat corn ect ,,,good places undercut banks over hanging trees where a glide meets a deep end of a run though id be looking to bait up a few deep holes with hemp take loads and corn ect and rove in this weather also with all the rain coming off the welsh mountains it knocks the fish off for a while best to wait till it starts to drop, a big lob worm works great then . good luck bud |
