| barbel on the rivver stour? ( kidderminster) hey all im stayin at mu nans in kidderminster thursday night so i was thinking about givin the stour ago by sealine and was just wonderin... is it any good for barbel? what baits? pellets/paste be any good? what rig woukd be best? and 1.75lb tip or a light wuiver tip do for em? cheers jay __________________ Zander career so far: 3 over 10lb weighin 10lb 12oz and 10lb 08oz, 13lb 6oz     |

( kidderminster) River Stour (the Midlands one). heres the thread there is a decent head of barbel i thinkand i have heard of barbel there ive had one aroun a mile dowstream from there not prolific like the severn but its getting better and better there was even someone in the angling times with a stour barbel ive had around 15 barbel this year im actually going tommorow for a couple of hours if i can i would rove give a swim 20mins and move if no bites personally i would go for meat and worms,sure you 'll catch some chub at the least im sure they dont seem to like the maggots at the moment but the roach dace seem to ,pellets might work but now its colder they lose effectiveness, cheesepaste to chop and change baits dont bait up or very sparingly with a few free offerings and a small bit of hemp,rod wise anything a light feeder rod is fine upto a 1,75 barbel rod i prefer a 3oz feeder at the moents a 20g feeder/leger stroigh thru to a size 8-12 hook. hope this helps cheef __________________ hates 'carp puddles' targets for 2011 10lb+worcs stour barbel,specimen tench and chub. |

( kidderminster) it looks good and im sure its good but never fished that bit have about 2-300yards down by the scrapyard give it a go be really quiet and stealthy keep low cause they get spooky especially on a high bank good luck il let you know how i do tommorow __________________ hates 'carp puddles' targets for 2011 10lb+worcs stour barbel,specimen tench and chub. |
