Long slender and full of 'pure muscle', thats why Barbel always seem to look so good on the bank compared to the more stocky build of a Carp with its more ample stomach, which is often full of HP baits; however on some waters even the Barbel have started to put on a few inches round the waist with all the Boilees that are being thrown in for them.

Definately not the case on your river though Gaz, those Barbel are in lovely condition.
