That old one always amazes me Joe "I DIDNT SEE YOU" if their that bloody shortsighted then they have no place being in charge of a boat.
I,v even had the local ladies gig team take off with my flounder gear in the harbour and the guy at the back steering the thing could quite easily see me and my rods sitting up on the rail, what did he say? the same old line "I DIDNT SEE YOU" .
Couldnt hold my tongue as he obviously did see me and they all seemed to think it was funny, i was lucky enough to have time to ease the drag off and let line out til they turned and untangled the line from the oars.
I do believe some people just dont care if they cut through your line, there is one very arrogant/ignorant commercial bloke in Penberth Cove not far from here who has upset loads of anglers by cutting across lines as he comes in and out the cove, one bloke told me he went passed him shooting pots right across his lines .
There is loads of room coming out from the cove and a vast sea/coastline to set fishing gear but this guy seems to think it's his right to do as he please's with no regard for other's because he's making a living and we'r only anglers .
All but given up fishing this mark as it's only a matter of time til it ends in a confrontation when he gets off his boat.
It's a shame because this is a nice easy mark to reach for kids and older anglers not up to rockhopping.
I try and stick to the more remote marks with the odd seal and a few flying rats for company or fish the harbours into the dark when most of the loonies have gone home lol.
