Look what the Gaz dragged in!!

Hey fellow fisherfolks, just returned this morning from an(other) overnight session on Bob's Island.I took my mate Andy and my lil bro in law Jordan too as Andy had never caught a barbel.Gear in car and away

Arrived at around lunchtime only to find 2 chaps feeder fishing where we wanted to be,so i politely asked if they were here for the night and they said they were going home in an hour .So i set one rod up in the peg next door and Andy and Jordan went and set up in a couple of pegs further up.
Not an hour into the session,Andy text me with a photo of his first Barbel

That hour meant the chaps in the peg i wanted were well on there way to getting the van filled and ready for off,so in i moved, bivvy up,pod set, rods cast.
A couple of hours passed,Andy moved into the same peg as I(big peg) was in and we were set for the rest of the evening(after i'd been to the local chippy).
10 minutes after my chips Andy's rod bounced a couple of times and he was into his first ever chub of around 3lb

Jordan moved into the peg next to Andy and I,had an hour of weed runs lol, then he decided to fish a rod length out and was rewarded with his new PB of 8lb exactly an hour later

You couldn't of scrubbed the smile off the lads face and his reaction when he saw it in the net said it all
Sadly,I'd had nothing on my rods at all but at 3:20am my left hand rod absolutely roared into life and after a peculiar bream like battle lasting about 7-8 minutes slipped a lovely 14lb2oz common into the net

(it was my turn to grin like a cheshire cat now)
Andy and I stayed awake from then on talking about the fact I always catch bigger or better fish than him, after an hour of explaining it'll all come one day Jordans rod nearly got pulled off his alarm and he was into another lovely Barbel of 7lb 14oz

Now it was 5am and we were thinking about packing up,decided we'd give it till 7am then get on our way back.
6:15 my left hand rod again roars off with a deafening single toner, and as soon as I hit it I could tell it was a good fish, but strangely came in almost like a dead weight and into the net in a few minutes to end the session with another PB Barbel of 9lb.

A fantastic end to a fantastic overnighter for all with Andy getting his first chub and barbel,Jordan with a new PB and me with my first proper river carp(had them off canal) and a new PB aswell.
