| Start of season trip...invitation. Hi All, I am in the throws of sorting out my tackle etc for the new season at the moment...........keen or what? But in doing that I have also looked at some new spots to visit. I have found a cracking place, lots of big Barbel and Chub, and intend setting up on the 15th of june, and fishing through from silly o'clock on the 16th to Saturday the 18th (3 days 2 nights). You don't have to be there or fish all that time, but if you would like to join me let me know. As some of you will know, I tend not to advertise my fishing haunts, not through selfishness, but more a need to keep the less disciplined rabble away, so if you fancy this PM me for more details. It is within an area that is easily commutable from the likes of Gloucester, Cheltenham, Birmingham, Worcester, Tewkesbury, South Wales. I used to spend a whole week at the start of the season at Little Britain lake near Uxbridge, in my long gone youth, and fancy starting that tradition again, though not a whole week! Let me now. | Re: Start of season trip...invitation. I am hoping to get up to the Wye at some stage later in the season, and probably only for a day.......its a little pricey for me, despite the fantastic fishing available. Tight lines for your trip, we will have to compare tactics, bait and catch after those dates. I can't wait either, and am suffering from SERIOUS withdrawl symptoms. | Re: Start of season trip...invitation. No doubt my clubs better Barbel stretches will be full on the first night so I will probably not get there until 5pm ready for the evening session, there are usually a few who are knack**ed and give up and go home for their evening meal. Or I might have a long evening session on the Gt Ouse at Felmersham or Radwell on the 16th and fish till midnight. I'm glad you have found a cracking Barbel stretch barbus, I wish I could join you but I live a little too far away and will probably be working on the 15th. I hope you have a great session. __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now) |

| Re: Start of season trip...invitation. Thanks Boldbear, thats the plan. It took flamin ages to find this stretch of river, so much of it around here is BAA controlled, and although I will get a BAA ticket, I'm not doing it just yet. Let us know how you get on at the kick-off. John __________________ Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day, Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime. Per Ardua Ad Astra. |
