Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for keeping meat on a hair rig? I've tried normal stoppers and grass stems but the fish keep nicking it off! Any Ideas. Thanks

Re: meat some people lightly fry it to give it a bit of a crust, but i like the look of a gizmo i saw in the tackle shop the other day,i don't know who makes it or what it is called but it is a piece of plastic with a thread on it and you screw it into the meat, it might not work but it must be worth a try

Re: meat Paul that sounds similar to the device mick brown once used when fishing for cats at anglers paradise... it was like a spiral of wire he made that was just tied to a hair and screwed into the meat. __________________ Blackwater Tackle Supplies Keep Ulster's Waters Healthy, Practice Catch and Release!

Re: meat Mounting directly on the hook: If I am mounting meat directly on the hook I may use a short piece of grass through the bend of the hook. Mounting on a hair: If I need to cast a fair distance then I usually thread the hair through a short piece of Biro tube to prevent the hair from cutting through the meat and push a ‘Fox Meat Stop’ (see pic below) through the hair-loop to support the weight of the meat on the cast. ![]() __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now)
